Seems to be very rigid but it works for me:
- Sticking to basically the same eating regime daily.
- Reading all labels and not eating if sugar is in the first 6 or 7 ingredients or over 5-7 sugars. (Not refined).
- Preparing my own foods instead of pre-made as you really don't know what is in them.
- Finding high fiber sweetened with fruit juices
is a real find!
- Staying away from fast-food.
- Daily 45min-1 hour walks keep me in my glucose range and with a good mental attitude.
Life is good and I feel in control of my disease. You have to take charge of your life and this is one disease that you can control with good eating and exercise habits. |
